Very Short Stories

Short Story I:

So, awhile ago there lived this man, and he was very industrious and understood what it took to earn a dollar. The man was perhaps unscrupulous in a way. After a short period of time the man had made a good life for himself, he had a big house and a few nice cars and he even owned a good boat. What the man didn't have was power, he wasn't in a position to make the big moves. He had good looks and could be with whomever he chose -- nothing lacked in his life except his ability to control his surroundings. He often felt helpless.

Short Story II:

Sometimes we would stand in my kitchen trying to decide how to get our lives together. You would say things like "It's only been two weeks since I last got money from my folks, I can't ask again so soon."
I agreed. It just seemed so strange because it felt like we made all the right decisions. We went to college, we got good jobs but we just didn't know how to grow up I guess.
Other times we would just sit on the roof of my apartment complex and have tequila shots and chain smoke. We talked for hours and thought life was amazing. We felt great.

Short Story III:

What did you think of that movie?
"I like it."
"It was okay."
"I don't like it very much."
"I love it."
"I hate it."

Short Story IV:

April, 10th 2008.

Today I woke up and felt terrible. I called work and told them I was unable to come in. I went to Bauhaus with my roommate and got coffee. Then I went to the doctors office and found out I was anemic. Afterwards I went to the Honeyhole and ate lunch. Currently I am at the Vera Project with Casey and Dale. They're mad.

SCENARIO I

How would you re-act if the following happened to you:

You wake up one morning and everything is as usual. You go about your normal routine which eventually leads you to the bathroom to do what needs to be done. You lift the toilet lid and resting in the toilet is one of the biggest turds you've ever seen. Your roommates/parents are away on vacation and have been gone for the past few days and you have been home alone with no one over for the last few days, and no one has an extra set of keys to your apartment/house. The previous night you were completely sober and you know without a shadow of a doubt you did not shit this monster turd. What do you do?

TIME IN MY LIFE

Last Tuesday I got back to Seattle from San Francisco. It was a really amazing place and I had a fantastic time. Being back in Seattle has become really strange for me, I feel a little out of place for some reason. The weather is terrible and no one seems to want to be in good spirits. Regardless, I am trying to keep my chin up for there are many things to look forward to. Spring is officially here and hopefully it will start doing its thing sooner rather than later. I think I'm going to rearrange my room this weekend.

The picture above isn't related to anything that I'm talking about. I just think it looks neat and it's sort of inspiring.

MUSIC POSTERS

I made these two flyers for some upcoming shows at the Vera Project and I thought I would post them. Also, go to these shows because the bands playing are rad and the Vera can use all the support you can give them, cause it's an amazing place. Enjoy.

WANT/NEED

WANT: a Wii, all cigarettes, all beer, clothes (new jeans, new shirts, a spring jacket), plane tickets to anywhere, no work.

NEED: Cash.

SUPER-HEROES

This morning on the way to work with Sarah on the bus her and I started thinking about what it would be like if our friends all had super powers and if they did what their super-hero name would be and also what their powers would be. The following is the list I have compiled as of now.

Sarah: Dinosaur Girl
***Power: The ability to conjure up dinosaurs in battle from anywhere to 30 seconds to a full minute. The dinosaurs will always recognize her enemy in battle and attack only that villain.

Schanen: Curls
***Power: The ability to extend and expand her hair to fully overtake and encapsulate her enemy. After the hair retracts the enemy is mummified for an undisclosed amount of time.

Ian: Parodyman
***Power: His main power is using distraction as a means of confusing his opponent and then using his super strength to overtake them. He also has the ability to become invisible when completely still.

Casey: The Boy
***Power: The ability to fly and the ability to control certain inanimate objects with his mind.

Dale: The Designer
***Power: The ability to change the clothing on his enemy to any substance he wishes, including peanut butter, hot lava, etc. He can also distort information that is set in print.

Andrew: Drewid
***Power: The ability to double in size and to see and walk through walls. He can also control the growth of plants.

Carrie: Quake
***Power: The ability to cause earthquakes and the ability to scream at an extremely high decibel level.

Rachelle: Fairytale
***Power: The ability to shape shift into any mythical beast of her choosing.

Marius: The Foreigner
***Power: The ability to speak any language and the ability to accentuate fire, for example can turn a lit cigarette into an explosive. Can also levitate if necessary.

Emily: Delivery
***Power: The ability to transport to any location on Earth instantaneously. Is also very good with knives.

Robert: Greens
***Power: Always gets greens.

This is the list as I have it so far. If you'd like to add something to your character or take something away please let me know. This is very important.

LEAP DAY

This year, if you aren't aware, was a leap year. That means that year four years the Earth gets an extra day. An extra 24 hours to do homework, go to the beach if you live in an appropriate climate for this time of year, hang out with the fam, and of course party. This leap day, in the year of our Lord 2008, I started off by going to work. It was pretty nice, I went to Volunteer Park with my class and we walked around the park for about 4 hours and it was very pleastant. I got off of work at 3 and Casey (pictured above) called me and asked me if I'd like to go to a party with him that someone from his work was throwing. The picture above is from said party, you can click the link for more pictures. It was a really fun party with jello shooters and other such things. We met a lot of really interesting people that were very welcoming and nice. Casey made a speech regarding the Leap Year and everyone was very happy. After the party Casey and I went to see Talbot Tagora at Healthy Times Fun Club and despite the fact that I was fairly inebriated I had a great time dancing and whatnot. Then we headed over to Sarah's for a wonderful night of playing American Idol on Nintendo Wii. Overall Leap Day was fantastic, and at the same time it was like it never happened.
This day that comes every four years ruled...so hard.
