MUSIC POSTERS

I made these two flyers for some upcoming shows at the Vera Project and I thought I would post them. Also, go to these shows because the bands playing are rad and the Vera can use all the support you can give them, cause it's an amazing place. Enjoy.

SUPER-HEROES

This morning on the way to work with Sarah on the bus her and I started thinking about what it would be like if our friends all had super powers and if they did what their super-hero name would be and also what their powers would be. The following is the list I have compiled as of now.

Sarah: Dinosaur Girl
***Power: The ability to conjure up dinosaurs in battle from anywhere to 30 seconds to a full minute. The dinosaurs will always recognize her enemy in battle and attack only that villain.

Schanen: Curls
***Power: The ability to extend and expand her hair to fully overtake and encapsulate her enemy. After the hair retracts the enemy is mummified for an undisclosed amount of time.

Ian: Parodyman
***Power: His main power is using distraction as a means of confusing his opponent and then using his super strength to overtake them. He also has the ability to become invisible when completely still.

Casey: The Boy
***Power: The ability to fly and the ability to control certain inanimate objects with his mind.

Dale: The Designer
***Power: The ability to change the clothing on his enemy to any substance he wishes, including peanut butter, hot lava, etc. He can also distort information that is set in print.

Andrew: Drewid
***Power: The ability to double in size and to see and walk through walls. He can also control the growth of plants.

Carrie: Quake
***Power: The ability to cause earthquakes and the ability to scream at an extremely high decibel level.

Rachelle: Fairytale
***Power: The ability to shape shift into any mythical beast of her choosing.

Marius: The Foreigner
***Power: The ability to speak any language and the ability to accentuate fire, for example can turn a lit cigarette into an explosive. Can also levitate if necessary.

Emily: Delivery
***Power: The ability to transport to any location on Earth instantaneously. Is also very good with knives.

Robert: Greens
***Power: Always gets greens.

This is the list as I have it so far. If you'd like to add something to your character or take something away please let me know. This is very important.

LEAP DAY

This year, if you aren't aware, was a leap year. That means that year four years the Earth gets an extra day. An extra 24 hours to do homework, go to the beach if you live in an appropriate climate for this time of year, hang out with the fam, and of course party. This leap day, in the year of our Lord 2008, I started off by going to work. It was pretty nice, I went to Volunteer Park with my class and we walked around the park for about 4 hours and it was very pleastant. I got off of work at 3 and Casey (pictured above) called me and asked me if I'd like to go to a party with him that someone from his work was throwing. The picture above is from said party, you can click the link for more pictures. It was a really fun party with jello shooters and other such things. We met a lot of really interesting people that were very welcoming and nice. Casey made a speech regarding the Leap Year and everyone was very happy. After the party Casey and I went to see Talbot Tagora at Healthy Times Fun Club and despite the fact that I was fairly inebriated I had a great time dancing and whatnot. Then we headed over to Sarah's for a wonderful night of playing American Idol on Nintendo Wii. Overall Leap Day was fantastic, and at the same time it was like it never happened.
This day that comes every four years ruled...so hard.

MORE LIKELY THAN NOT, YOU ARE BORED.

This is a picture of my ceiling. It looks so big but it's really not, I mean there are a lot of better ceilings out there. Think about church ceilings or ceilings in very fancy apartments. Rich people demand a nice mosaic or something very cool to look at when they look up. They always get what they want. Yesterday I called in sick to work, maybe that's why I'm not rich. Today I went to work but I left early because I was feeling sick, is this why I don't have a servant? As I'm updating this I'm reading the Wikipedia article about Jesus. It's very interesting. It's making me wonder if Jesus wants to throw a brick in my face for being gay, maybe Jesus is pissed that I'm talking about him right now. I want Jesus to know that I think he's cool.
I think it's really cool when someone asks you "Can I see your art?" and you say "yes" and you have to go through this process of showing them your art and then they say "I don't get your art" or "why are you doing this?" or they might even say "this is weird" but I think the best response to something like that is to say "I think drawing a picture of a guy wearing a Green Day "Dookie" shirt and standing next to a lawn chair and a palm tree and the caption saying "time to cheese" is really cool, please don't be a jerk." And then they might be very disappointed in you. At that point the best thing to do is draw a picture of that person/those people doing your laundry and washing your dishes. So in a way those people are your servants.

VALENTINE'S DAY

Today is Valentine's Day and I am celebrating by doing laundry and listening to Chromatics, just kidding, I'm just doing that right now. I'm going to a party tonight, what are you doing losers? Just joking, you know how it is.
So life is going pretty good. I am feeling more productive now than I have in a long while. I think I'm in the mood for a new job so I'm going to apply for a nanny job, but thats so up in the air at the moment. I'm doing some flyers for some upcoming shows at The Vera Project which I know isn't that big a deal but it's still going to be fun. I also think I'm going to apply for the music internship there.
Anyways, hopefully everyone's happy on this bullshit corporate holiday...just kidding, kinda.

MISTER ROOM/ROOM GALLERY

I am sitting in my room right now, I can't sleep. I figure it would be a great idea to show you guys some of the art I have up in my room. It was the two year anniversary of Ian living in Seattle today so Sarah, Andrew, Schanen, Casey, and I went to Bauhaus with him and also to Easy Street Music in Queen Anne and I got a Hospitals 12" that sounds very good and then Sarah and I took Ian and Casey home and she dropped me off. I cheesed really hard and watched that movie Homegrown which is very, very bad. Then I got more bored and took these pictures with my camera. Now I'm just listening to the Raincoats and contemplating a shower.

Thank you.
Relax.

p.s.

I also made this video.

OBAMA '08

So yesterday I was feeling kind of under the weather partially because I had gotten about 4 hours of sleep the previous night and partially because perhaps I had too much to drink the previous night and had a hangover, I would like to think that the state I was in was due to the former not the latter, but the truth is, well...

But regardless, I wasn't feeling too well so I decided to take a shower and walk down to my local neighborhood bookstore (Bailey/Coy Books) and pick up the most recent issue of The New Yorker and go to a coffee shop and just sit and try to let the bad air pass and leave my body. While there I read an article discussing the Clinton/Obama run for the Democratic nomination and it made some very good points even though it was vis à vis an ad for yet another supposed politically UNcorrect show starring non other than Americas political bad boy Bill Maher. Oh, the wit this man holds...I'm sure is currently in a folder in the office of his intern, or perhaps secretary. ANYWAYS, the article is by Hendrik Hertzberg and if you're interested you should either go buy a copy of the current New Yorker or go stand in the magazine aisle...I'm sure no one will yell at you, and read it. Aside from being clearly pro-Obama (which I think is fantastic), the articles closing sentence is perhaps it's most powerful.
"Hillary Clinton would make a competent, knowledgeable, and responsible President. Barack Obama just might make a transformative one."

I support Barack Obama, fully. And although I will vote for Hillary if she got the nomination, I will do it pensively.

***The New Yorker article I reference in this post is from the February 11th-18th, 2008 issue.
